Terms of use and license

The agreement for using Blipcal on your Mac.

Last updated 6 November 2026

The short version

  • Pay once, $19, and use it on up to two Macs you control.
  • A 14-day free trial of every feature; the month grid stays free after it.
  • One year of free updates, then the version you have keeps working.
  • A 14-day money-back guarantee. No warranty beyond what the law gives you.

Who you are dealing with

Blipcal is made and sold by Josh Snoddy, a sole trader trading as Blipcal, based in Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. Contact: support@blipcal.com.

The license

Blipcal is licensed, not sold. A license lets you use Blipcal, for personal or business purposes, on up to two Macs that you control at the same time. You may move it between your own Macs by deactivating it on one and activating it on another. It is not transferable to another person, and a license key may not be sold, shared or published. To use Blipcal on more than 2 Macs at once, you need another license.

The free trial

Blipcal is free to use for 14 days from first launch on each Mac, with every feature and no payment to start. When the trial ends, the month grid, today's date in the menu bar and keyboard navigation keep working free; events, the agenda, editing, quick entry, the menu bar text and countdown, time zones and reminders need a license.

Updates

Every purchase includes one year of free updates from the purchase date. After that the version you have keeps working for as long as you like, and updates released after the first year are offered separately. A later major version may carry an upgrade fee, with a discount for owners.

Payment and taxes

The price is $19 (USD) per license, one time, including any applicable taxes, less any promotion code applied at checkout. Payment is processed by Stripe, which emails you a receipt; Stripe processes the payment on our behalf and is not the seller. Your use of the checkout is also subject to Stripe's own terms. Your license key is shown on the page after checkout and emailed to you.

Refunds

Refunds are covered by our refund policy: a 14‑day money‑back guarantee, refunded to your original payment method.

Acceptable use

You may not reverse engineer or circumvent the licensing, redistribute, rent or sublicense Blipcal, or share a license key beyond the Macs it covers.

Third-party components

Blipcal includes Sparkle (updates), KeyboardShortcuts and LaunchAtLogin-Modern, used under their open-source licenses, and reads your calendars through Apple's EventKit.

Disclaimer and liability

Blipcal is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, including events or reminders changed or deleted in your calendars. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.

Termination

We may deactivate a license that is shared, resold or used to circumvent the licensing. Your statutory rights are unaffected.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Northern Ireland, United Kingdom, and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer, including any applicable UK and EU rights.

Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. The terms that applied when you bought keep applying to that purchase.
